How to tell the Clean the Library maps apart mid-run
Three practical checks that work without needing a wiki open in another tab.
Count staircases, not shelves
The signal is floor count. The Classic Library is a 2-floor map and the Grand Library is a 4-floor one, so a third floor means you are in a Grand run. The quicker tell is the shelves themselves: 1A is Studio in the Classic Library and Cooking in the Grand one.
Do not assume shelf codes carry over
The Horror shelf at 1H and the Anime shelf at 2B belong to the Classic Library specifically. If you are in a Grand Library run, do not assume a 3A or 4B holds the same category - its sections are different, and no source we trust lists them. Treat Grand Library shelves as unlabeled until you read the in-game category yourself.

The other two maps, section by section
Do not carry Classic Library codes into a Grand run. Some categories recur across the maps - Magic, Horror, Anime, Military and DevEx all appear in both - but they sit on different codes. 1A is Studio in the Classic Library and Cooking in the Grand one, and Magic is 2A in the Classic Library and 3A in the Grand.

How We Verified
We do not play this game. Everything here is taken from sources you can check yourself, and we say which one on the page where the claim appears. The shelf sections and book lists come from the Pro Game Guides map cheatsheet and allthings.how, which agree with each other. Gamepass prices come from the live store listing, and badge counts from the Roblox API.
Where the sources are silent, we say so instead of filling the gap. No source publishes book titles for the Grand or Starter libraries, names any individual magic ability, or lists the three-volume titles for the Meditation and Military shelves - so neither do we. Sites that do publish those are guessing, and several of them contradict their own tables.
Frequently asked questions
How many maps does Clean the Library have?
The game rotates library layouts. The Classic Library is the 2-floor one, with 16 sections: 1A to 1J on Floor 1 and 2A to 2F on Floor 2. There is also a 1-floor Starter Library and a 4-floor Grand Library, and their sections are not the same as the Classic Library's.
How do I know which Clean the Library map I'm in?
Count floors, or read a shelf. The Classic Library is 2 floors and the Grand Library is 4, so a third floor means a Grand run. Faster still: section 1A is Studio in the Classic Library and Cooking in the Grand Library.
Are the Grand Library sections listed on this site?
Yes - the Grand Library's 32 sections across 4 floors are listed on this page. What does not carry over is the code mapping: several categories appear in both maps (Magic, Horror, Anime, Military, DevEx) but on different codes, and 1A is Studio in the Classic Library and Cooking in the Grand one. Book titles for the Grand Library are not published by any source we trust, so we list its categories only.
Can I choose which library map I get in Clean the Library?
No source we trust documents a way to pick the map, and none of them describe a selector. Treat the rotation as outside your control unless the developer says otherwise.
Do the same book categories appear on both maps?
The categories on this site - Horror at 1H, Anime at 2B and the rest - are the Classic Library's. Do not assume the same codes carry over to a Grand Library run.
How many sections does each map have?
