What the code does with the books you add, step by step.
Each title you add is looked up in the same shelf data that backs the clean the library roblox book list published on this site, which maps 189 book titles to the Classic Library's 16 sections. The planner groups your stack by shelf code, sorts those shelves by floor and then by section letter, and prints the result as a numbered route. Because every stop on a floor is visited before the next floor starts, the number of floor changes drops to the smallest number possible for your stack: one less than the number of floors it touches.
The comparison figure is the same walk measured on your pick-up order. The planner counts how many times that order crosses between floors, and how many times it steps back to an earlier section letter on one floor, then subtracts. Both numbers are counts of shelf-to-shelf moves. There is no shelf geometry, player position or stair position in the model, so nothing here is a distance or a time, and the planner does not know which floor you are currently standing on.
For the lookalike check, each title in your stack is split into content words and compared against every other title in the list using a Dice coefficient over those word sets. Titles that share words but sit on a different shelf are ranked and shown; titles that share words with a book on the same shelf are dropped, because mixing those two up does not change where either goes. It is a word-overlap test and nothing more: it will not catch two titles that are confusing without sharing a word, and it will surface pairs that share only a common word. The coverage count compares how many of a section's listed titles you are carrying against how many it lists, which is not the same as completing the section, because the data notes several sections whose titles run to multiple volumes.
One wrong spine is enough to stop a section paying out.
A section pays 2 Stat Points when it is completed, and those points are what the Magic Upgrades menu spends. Completing a section means every volume of every book on it is placed, so a section that is one book short pays nothing and a single misplaced title holds up the payout for the whole shelf.
The parody titles make that easy to do. Read down the clean the library roblox book list and several of them reuse the same words across completely different sections, and the shelf you want is decided by the category the title belongs to rather than by any word in it. The sources this site draws on describe reading the title printed on the spine to confirm placement, and they describe no colour coding. That is what the lookalike list in the planner is for: it names the specific other titles whose wording overlaps yours most closely, and the shelf each of those belongs to. The section codes, categories and book titles this planner runs on are the list published on this site, reconstructed from public community sources: the Pro Game Guides map cheatsheet and allthings.how. That list may be incomplete or wrong, and no in-game audit of the shelves sits behind it. Where those sources are silent the site publishes nothing rather than a guess, which is why no book titles appear here for the Starter or Grand Library rotations.

The Classic Library has 16 shelf sections: 10 on Floor 1 (1A to 1J) and 6 on Floor 2 (2A to 2F). The game also rotates a 1-floor Starter Library and a 4-floor Grand Library, whose sections differ.
